A Family Christmas

December 17, 2015

Te

In the video below are the unedited home movies of Eickhoff Family  Christmases.  They were taken some 60 years ago at my great grandparent’s home in rural Wykoff, Minnesota.  They were taken by my Father – a man who always had the latest technology.  In 1954 , the latest was the home movie camera.  The music is added as these were silent movies.

The more time that comes between us and these movies, the more precious they become, both for those of us who were there and for those who were not.  They are for all to see the rich heritage we have.

Thanks, Dad!

Thanks for this post, Tom. And thanks to Donald for taking the originals. Fun to try to ID all the aunts, uncles, and cousins. Maybe we should have a contest trying to tag screen captures?

I’ll take this down to Florida in a couple weeks for the (annual) mini-reunion of E-cousins — Ronnie, Carol, Marilyn, and Rosalie.

(PS, Where did “Seal” get that necklace?!?)
